CARL PETER ROLFF
1843 - 1844
Lille Grønnegade 322, Copenhagen
Right next
to Rohmell &
Schüerers factory,
the tin model maker
and former shoemaker
Carl Peter
Rolff in
October 1843 applied
for permission to establish a
match stick factory, as he
in his application
notes that he has previously
produced the
so-called dip
sulfur stick. The fire
department accepts the
premises in the
basement of the backyard
for Lille
Grønnegade 322
and the 23rd of
February 1844 the almost
50-year-old
Rolff gets his
appropriation.
Apparently he did not
use it, perhaps because he the
same year married the
almost 30 years younger
Jacobine Fernandine
Christophersen and
moved to Sundbyvester
on Amager, where he
engaged in plastering
and petty trade.
