In the fall of 1865 Ludolph Emil Fog and Carl Frederik Als
rented a plase in the gardener Bjerregaard's yard in Skolegade 3
, where they started their match stick factory, but the
following year Als went from the collaboration , perhaps to go
back to Australia, where he had previously
been
and instead Fog continued alone.
There is no available data or other information about Fog´s
factory , before he in 1870 sold the site to Hermann August
Clausen, who had previously taken over Ole Christian Green´s
factory in Møllegade .
Clausen merged the two plants and moved the machines to his own
factory in Møllegade .
In 1873 Fog, who in the meantime had gone to Copenhagen as
sales agent for Clausen, moved back to Aalborg and was now
manager of the factory.
But the new match stick law was tough for Clausen and Fog,
already during the legislative work had pointed out that this
could be their factory´s death, because of the high cost of
conversion .
In January 1874 , they had to sell the factory to Rudolph
Frederick Berggreen who will be manager , grocery Olaf Hansen
and lawyer HR Bøgvad .
The three made the necessary adjustment of the factory and the
17th of
June 1874 they changed the company's name from Aalborg
Svovlstikkefabrik to Aalborg Tændstikfabrik .
At the same time Bøgvad resigned and August Ludvig Dominco
Jochimsen was the new head of the factory.
Only 2 years after Fog again took responsibility for the factory
until it closed permanently in 1879.
