Hans Andreas Reuter
searched for
permission to establish a
friction match factory, as he has
previously fabricated special
tinder boxes using platin. Reuter,
which is relatively impecunious,
can not immediately
say where he intends
to place the
factory. But when he
gets the grant and
his citizen letter
the 31st of
December 1842, he moved
into the side
building in the ground floor to the
left in the courtyard of
Gothersgade 138
His factory was small
with 2 boys employee
and an output of 200
tinder boxes in
brass, 20-30
dozen in metal holsters
and about 100 gros
in boxes.
For this production
he consumes about 100
pounds of sulfuric
acid, glassware 20-30
rd, 20
pound brass,
100 pound
zinc, 4 -
5 pounds phosphorus
and 8-9 pounds
of sulfur.
