Holger Drachmann and the matches
The danish poet and painter Holger Drachmann also had his vices in relation to matches. His consumption of matches was so well known that he on his 60th birthday got several large packages of matches. These include a gift sent from Gosch's match factory, - a huge stack of 50,000 matchsticks and a letter as a gift and tribute - perhaps to remind Drachmann of the many matches he has taken from other people.
